Karmelo Anthony’s High School GPA Has Leaked After His Arrest For Stabbing 17-Year-Old Austin Metcalf To Death, And It’s Shocking

As the investigation into the deadly track meet stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf continues, new details have emerged that shed light on the alleged attacker’s background- one that many wouldn’t expect.

Police arrested 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony from Frisco on Wednesday, April 2, for allegedly stabbing Metcalf at a high school track meet. The shocking event left a community reeling, but as court proceedings begin, the accused’s personal story is beginning to surface, complicating the narrative.

Shocking Academic Record Emerges

In an interview with the New York Post, Karmelo’s father, Andrew Anthony, pushed back against the portrayal of his son as a violent teen, offering a different view- one that includes a strong academic record and a rigorous work ethic.

“He’s a good kid,” Andrew said. “He works two jobs. He’s an A student, has a 3.7 GPA.”

That GPA, typically associated with college-level honors or top-tier academic standing, has caught the attention of many following the case. For a 17-year-old high schooler juggling jobs and studies, it adds layers to an already complicated story.

Andrew Anthony insists that his son acted in self-defense, noting, “He was not the one who started it.” According to police reports, Karmelo allegedly admitted to the stabbing, reportedly telling officers, “I did it.” Despite his confession, his defense team argues that provocation sparked the altercation and he reacted to aggression, not with premeditated violence.
