Gloria Zamora, a popular fitness influencer, was killed by her jealous ex-husband in California on Saturday.
According to the New York Post, which cites police reports, as well as Gloria’s family, her date was also shot to death by her former spouse, who was himself killed by an off-duty officer.
Zamora, who had over 150,000 followers on Instagram, was going through a divorce with her second husband, Tomas Alberto Tamaya Lizarraga. She had seven children, while her date, Hector Garduno, was the father of four.
The 40-year-old is dead just days after revealing on her ‘HERizon’ podcast that she was leaving Tomas.
The shooting took place in the parking lot of a sushi restaurant in Fontana.
“They were going through a divorce, that led to this,” an officer attached to the Fontana Police Department, Steve Reed, told ABC 7.
“We don’t know how he knew where she was at, but apparently, she had been at the restaurant for approximately an hour prior to the shooting,” he added.

There were several off-duty cops in the area when Lizarraga started shooting, including a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy who was driving past and saw what happened.
The deputy made a U-turn at the light, got out of his vehicle, and engaged the shooter, killing him in the process. His name has not been released.
“My mom was senselessly taken from us, she was murdered by my stepdad Tomas, in an act of unimaginable violence,” Jazlynne Zamora, one of Gloria’s daughters, wrote.
She described her mother as a “a light in her community” who “uplifted and inspired countless women.”
“She always said, ‘Women can do anything they set their minds to,’ and she lived those words every day,” Jazlynne continued.
Garduno’s children have published a GoFundMe page, where he is described as a “devoted and hardworking man that was tragically murdered and gone too soon.”
The incident remains under investigation.
