EA Sports spent the last couple of days releasing the player ratings for “Madden NFL 26.”
As usual, there were a lot of ratings that made sense, and then there were a ton that made fans lose their collective minds.
Not only is Patrick Mahomes not first in the quarterback rankings, but he’s also fourth behind Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.
His rating is despite the fact that he is still widely considered the best quarterback in the league, as we saw in ESPN’s poll of the top 10 quarterbacks, where he received 60% of the first-place votes.
Mahomes has held a 99 overall rating in Madden for five straight years, establishing himself as the game’s undisputed top quarterback.
His streak ended Thursday when a shocking demotion caused NFL fans to question everything they thought they knew about how greatness gets measured.
He was given just a 95, placing him behind Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who both received 99, and Joe Burrow, rated at 97.
As expected, fans didn’t take it well, calling the ranking “extremely disrespectful.”
Mahomes, who led the Kansas City Chiefs to consecutive Super Bowl titles in the 2022-23 seasons, had a career-low 3,928 yards passing and tied for his fewest touchdown passes with 26, but still led the Chiefs to their third straight Super Bowl appearance.
How Fans Reacted To Patrick Mahomes’ Madden Rating

“95 is extremely disrespectful,” one fan said.
Another fan commented, “Never thought I’d see the day where Patrick Mahomes became the most underrated QB in the league, but here we are.”
“Patrick Mahomes should always be a 99 on Madden. Period,” a third person wrote.
“Mahomes being 4th best dont sit right with me,” one final fan commented.
