A long list of leaders from across Europe confirmed their attendance at Monday’s talks between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, DC.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not alone while meeting Trump in Washington, D.C. on Monday for talks aimed at ending the conflict with Russia.
The meeting came days after Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska for summit talks.
The president has social media buzzing after a hot microphone caught him whispering something he called “crazy” as he, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and seven European leaders prepared for a closed-door meeting at the White House to talk about ending Russia’s war in Ukraine.
“I think he [Russian President Vladimir Putin] wants to make a deal,” Donald Trump whispered to French President Emmanuel Macron in the East Room.
“I think he wants to make a deal for me, you understand that? As crazy as it sounds.”
Here is a list of confirmed attendees on Monday:
- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz
- Finnish President Alexander Stubb
- French President Emmanuel Macron
- NATO Secretary-General, Mark Rutte
- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni
- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer
Donald Trump’s remark suggests that Putin might be ready to end the war and fulfill his wishes for a ceasefire.
Putin, who had his Federal Protection Service collect his waste in a poop suitcase, has not yet commented on the situation.

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky have plans to meet.
Donald Trump made that clear following a White House summit with European leaders aimed at bringing an end to the war in Ukraine.
The US President spoke to both leaders on separate days, which will then lead to a three-way meeting involving him.
“Everyone is happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine,” Trump later posted on Truth Social.
