After months of speculation, Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce popped the question to Taylor Swift.
In a heartwarming Instagram post, Taylor Swift revealed that she accepted Travis Kelce’s marriage proposal. The Grammy Award-winning singer wrote, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married🧨”.
One of the first questions from fans was just how much the NFL icon spent on the engagement ring. It was a lot of money, yes, but also not as expensive as you would have thought.
The engagement ring was crafted by prominent New York-based jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. Speaking to Ellen O’Brien of Brides.com, Estate Diamond Jewelry, vintage jewelry expert and gemologist Benjamin Khordipour estimated the ring’s value at $550,000.
“We estimate the price of her ring to be $550,000,” Khordipour said.
Social media detectives thought Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce intentionally dropped a hint on an upcoming wedding during her appearance on the “New Heights” podcast earlier this month.
2025 Could Be Travis Kelce’s Final NFL Season
Swift and Kelce have been in a relationship for two years, but didn’t go public until the Chiefs’ Week 3, 2023 home game against the Chicago Bears. Swift confirmed rumors of their romance when she watched the game from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
Obviously, their demanding careers have prevented the two from spending as much time together compared to most couples. But that could change next year, with Travis Kelce potentially ready to call it a career after the 2025 campaign.
Kelce pondered retirement after the Chiefs fell 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, but he decided to return for his age-36 season. Kansas City opens its 2025 season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5.
He has nothing more to prove with three Super Bowl rings and a guaranteed spot in Canton, but Kelce would sure love to add one more championship to his illustrious resume before calling it quits.
