Discord Releases Statement Following Rumors That Tyler Robinson Used Their Platform To Plan Charlie Kirk’s Murder | NFL Sports

Conspiracy theories regarding Charlie Kirk are spreading quickly a lot now, but Discord is shutting this one down. The platform confirmed Tyler Robinson didn’t use it to plan or hide Kirk’s shocking murder.

The company told TMZ it dug into Robinson’s activity after his arrest. Investigators did find an account linked to him. But Discord insists it found no evidence that Robinson plotted violence or shared anything related to the killing on its servers.

“Messages referenced in recent reporting about planning details do not appear to be Discord messages,” a company spokesperson told TMZ. Instead, those words came from a note Robinson left behind and conversations his roommate later relayed to a friend.

What Investigators Actually Found About Tyler Robinson

According to authorities, Robinson’s roommate gave the FBI a look at some material after the shooting. The roommate said Robinson once joked on Discord. He also showed them messages about a rifle being left in a bush wrapped in a towel. But Discord pushed back, saying those weren’t posts on its platform at all. They came from the note, not the chat service.

Discord says it shut down Robinson’s account once it confirmed his identity. The company stressed that it removes accounts linked to real-world violence whenever possible.
