Prince Harry Says ‘Focus Has to Be on My Dad’ After Reunion with King Charles | NFL Sports

Prince Harry has suggested he wants to see his father, King Charles, more in the near future following their recent reunion during his visit to the U.K.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, is now back at home in California following trip visit to England, which included visiting several charities close to his heart, giving a speech at the WellChild Awards and a private tea with his father, King Charles, whom he had not seen for 19 months.
Harry last saw the King, 76, in person in February 2024, days after he revealed he was being treated for an undisclosed cancer. During their latest meeting, the Duke of Sussex was pictured arriving by car at Clarence House at around 5:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 10. He was then seen departing the residence about 55 minutes later.
While speaking to The Guardian during his recent travels to Ukraine, Harry didn’t talk much about his father, but did suggest that he didn’t want their recent reunion to be a one-off.
He told the outlet that over the coming year, “the focus really has to be on my dad,” and said that he would like to spend more time in the U.K. and take his children — Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — there one day.
“This week has definitely brought that closer,” he said of his U.K. visit.

Harry also briefly mentioned his wife, Meghan Markle, 44, in The Guardian interview, insisting she’d told him that telling the truth was “the most efficient way to live.”
“She said ‘just stick to the truth’. It is the thing I always fall back on. Always,” the Duke of Sussex added. “And if you think like that, who would be stupid enough to lie? It takes up too much time and effort.”
Talk then turned to Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare, in which he famously opened up about life in the royal spotlight.
“I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative. The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected,” he told the publication.
Harry continued, “I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear.”
He insisted of being called stubborn, “It’s not stubbornness, it is having principles … It is not about revenge, it is about accountability,” adding that in life “you cannot have reconciliation before you have truth.”
Harry and King Charles’ reunion was a landmark moment for the father and son. Those close to the Duke have told PEOPLE that the King had previously not been taking his calls, and any messages were left unanswered.
Harry has expressed his desire to begin steps towards a rapprochement, telling BBC News in May that he would love a “reconciliation.”
He also recognized that some of his actions in recent years, including writing his memoir Spare, had made it difficult for members of his family to talk to him.
