The Cleveland Browns might be the first team in NFL history to receive a flag for something the refs assumed they would do before they actually did it.
In the first quarter game against the Minnesota Vikings in London, the Browns had just gotten to the line of scrimmage for a play against the Vikings.
It was second-and-6, and only 29 seconds had been played so far in the game.
Somehow, the flag graphic was already on the screen, but the play was not stopped before the ball was hiked.
Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who is starting his first game after Joe Flacco was benched, handed the ball for a short gain that made the third down more manageable.
The score would come back up on the screen with no flag graphic, but two seconds later, it reappeared out of nowhere.
There is no telling if the flag was on the Cleveland Browns or not, but it was a strange situation.
