Olivia Culpo, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2012, has a history with former President Donald Trump – including a romantic link and her participation in the pageant
Former President Donald Trump’s past with Olivia Culpo, the ex-Miss Universe, is under the spotlight again – unveiling a tangled tale of beauty contests and Russian connections.
The 32-year-old stunner, who was spotted post-wedding stress at an F1 event with her spouse, was first pictured alongside Trump back in 2012 during a NYC fashion show.
Culpo and Trump’s paths intertwined again in Sin City, as recounted in “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump,” a 2018 book by Michael Isikoff and David Corn.
This book alleges that Culpo spent the evening with Trump and Azerbaijani Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov’s son Emin Agalarov at The Act nightclub.
Per the expose, Agalarov was on the look-out for “an attractive woman for a music video” and asked for Trump’s help.
And the narrative goes: “It seemed obvious to them that they should reach out to Miss Universe.”
Culpo and Donald Trump also were snapped together on the celebrity walkway at the the Miss Universe contest to Moscow in November 2013.
By 2015, following Trump’s inflammatory Mexico comments while kicking off his presidential campaign, Culpo put clear water between herself and Trump.
She pulled out of the Miss USA pageant judging duty, sharing: “When I heard Mr. Trump’s initial comments, my immediate gut reaction was to withdraw my involvement in the pageant, but I felt such a sense of obligation to the employees at the Miss Universe organization and the 51 women who had, like me, anxiously awaited the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss USA.”
Culpo continued: “I do not believe that Mr. Trump’s comments are a true reflection of the values of this organization at all. The employees who work 24/7 to give people the opportunity to grow as I did and contribute to countless charities are the real heart and soul of Miss USA and Miss Universe.”
