Trump’s Legacy Rests On Securing Justice For Russiagate

President Trump’s path to the White House, personal brand and fight to save our country are at a dangerous crossroads and could make him the most famous American of all time.

Yet it remains an open question whether his legacy is to be remembered among our top presidents, like those heroes on Mt. Rushmore – Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Roosevelt. Considering our polarized society today, he won’t be ranked in the middle.

As one of his earliest national security advisors, among 50 or so Trump associates smeared in the Russiagate collusion hoax from 2017-2019, I saw how President Trump had his first term stolen while the rest of us endured limitless investigations and incurred millions in legal bills. (RELATED: In Wake Of ‘Russiagate’ Revelations, Americans Are Demanding Indictments — Who Could Be First?)

For years, legacy media diabolically advanced this stealth coup attempt, served up by deep state leakers and corrupt investigators painting false narratives in a fake scandal. Some once-prestigious, now disgraced media outlets, were awarded with Pulitzer Prizes.

Hundreds played notable roles to create, advance and obfuscate the Russiagate hoax – ironically within both the Obama and Trump administrations, federal bureaucracy, Clinton campaign and paid operatives, some in Congress, a complicit media, activist NGOs, so-called entertainers and even well-connected internet trolls.

Hundreds could potentially be indicted – including for conspiracy against the United States, abuse of authority, leaking classified information, and violating civil rights.

Despite the permanent damage inflicted upon President Trump, his family and friends, and many of his officials, he still hasn’t delivered on Russiagate justice. Not even close. Nearly a year into his second term, the clock is ticking fast and an unpredictable midterm election looms large.

The one Russiagate indictment this year, alleging former FBI Director James Comey committed perjury before Congress, appears at risk of collapse. Beyond a Biden-appointed judge in a Democrat stronghold of the Eastern District of Virginia, it was also an 11th hour attempt before the statute of limitations expired. That’s because the previous Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney apparently stalled and wouldn’t bring the case.

Which begs two important questions:

First: Why did such a person get the U.S. Attorney job in the first place?

Second: Who else within Team Trump is making excuses or running out the clock on Russiagate justice?

President Trump needs to find out fast. And decisively push them aside.

Sadly, many Trump officials have a history of undermining him. A Real Clear Investigations report last week by Paul Sperry entitled “How Trump’s Own Appointees Aided Russiagate Plot Against Him,” reveals disturbing, in-depth examples from his first term.

John Durham, appointed in 2019 to investigate the origins of Russiagate and later named Special Counsel, failed to get any prison sentences out of only three indictments. Sure, deep blue jurisdictions of Washington, D.C., and the Eastern District of Virginia were difficult, but he didn’t even try elsewhere.

To that end, there is hope.

The Southern District of Florida U.S. Attorney has begun to issue subpoenas over Russiagate and one can only hope we’ll see indictments – lots of them. President Trump had success there in his $15 million defamation suit against George Stephanopoulos and ABC News.

Jury selection is critical. The Ft. Pierce federal courthouse is in St. Lucie County, a place Trump only won by 54% in 2024. However, it beats the Eastern District of Virginia’s locale in Alexandria, where he got only 20%.

The Northern District of Texas, Amarillo federal courthouse where the president won a $36 million judgement against Paramount and CBS, should be considered. Perhaps the Northern District of West Virginia in Martinsburg, too. (RELATED: Deep State Leakers Scramble To Mitigate Russiagate Fallout)

Some may ask, “what about Congress and the Supreme Court, can’t they help?”  Yes, of course.

A Republican-controlled Congress could impeach rogue judges trampling centuries of jurisprudence to “Get Trump” while protecting anti-Trump figures, including violent offenders. Yet Congress won’t even hold hearings. It’s a recipe for a blowout in the midterms.

The Supreme Court can rein-in activist judges as well, but they haven’t. This goes back to Trump appointees. He nominated three Justices who are terribly unreliable at best. Instead of a shaky, yet nominally 6-3 “conservative court,” it should have been a 5-4 “pro-Trump” court.

Despite the disgraceful lack of support, President Trump owns this. There’s still time to get on Mt. Rushmore with America’s top presidents, literally or figuratively.  However, if he can’t deliver justice for Russiagate — for himself, his family, and associates, he’ll be remembered as weak, humiliated and likely ranked at the bottom as the political right could justifiably abandon him. It’s his legacy. I hope he chooses wisely.
