FBI Director Kash Patel Is Reportedly Done

Kash Patel’s unwavering loyalty to President Donald Trump may not be enough to stay in his position as the Director of the FBI.

Donald Trump’s push to appoint Kash Patel as the Director of the FBI raised controversy, given the latter’s apparent lack of qualifications and his endorsements of wild conspiracy theories.

Despite all of this, Patel was voted in as the new FBI Director in February in a slim vote by the U.S. Senate, 51-49. Just nine months into his tenure, however, it sounds like Patel’s job is very much in jeopardy.

According to MS NOW, Trump is now “considering removing Kash Patel as FBI director in the coming months.” The report claims that Trump and his “top aides” are getting “frustrated by the unflattering headlines Patel has recently generated.”

A strong candidate to replace Patel? Andrew Bailey, Co-Deputy Director of the FBI, with Dan Bongino. Both were sworn in on Sept. 15:

“Patel has come under scrutiny for his stewardship of bureau resources, including his girlfriend’s security detail and use of a government jet, and for his squabbles with other Trump loyalists.

Trump and White House aides have confided to allies that the president is eyeing removing Patel and is considering top FBI official Andrew Bailey as the bureau’s new director, according to the three people.

Patel is described as being on thin ice and his ouster appears closer than ever, with Bailey as the logical replacement, two of the sources with knowledge of the situation said, though Trump could change his mind in the weeks to come.”

In his first presidential term, Trump fired James Comey as the FBI Director on May 9, 2017.

Kash Patel Would Be The Third FBI Director Dismissed By The President

Patel faced criticism for incorrectly stating that the bureau had a suspect in custody over the assassination of Charlie Kirk, hours after the political activist was killed. Patel notably had a heated exchange with Sen. Adam Schiff at a Senate hearing when questioned about his controversial firing of numerous FBI agents and the handling of the Kirk assassination probe.

If Kash Patel gets dismissed, he’d become only the third FBI Director to receive his walking papers from the president. The aforementioned James Comey was the second in 2017, 24 years after Bill Clinton fired William S. Sessions following allegations of ethical violations.

Nonetheless, things have gotten a lot more interesting at the White House and bureau headquarters.
