He’s one of the greatest tight ends in the NFL, hosts one of the most celebrated podcasts of today, is romantically linked to the biggest pop star in the world and now, Travis Kelce is adding another line to his already long and plentiful resume: game show host.
That’s right, folks. The Kansas City Chiefs superstar will be taking center stage as host of Amazon’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? The new and exciting series, inspired by the classic Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? puts one contestant on the spot where they will answer elementary school level questions.
With the help of a classroom full of celebrities, these contestants will hope they and their celebrity helpers will have what it takes to win the $100,000 prize. The celebrities a part of the game will aid the contestant, allow them to “cheat” off them, discuss the answer and act as their teammates rather than their competitors.
The series premieres on October 16, 2024, with three brand new episodes.

While you’re just going to have to tune in to see for yourself which famous faces will be taking part in the fun, a few you can expect to see include Nikki Glaser, Nicole Byer, Natasha Leggero, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Garcelle Beauvais, Lala Kent, Sophia Stallone and many more.
What has Travis Kelce said about his new game show host gig?
The 34-year-old athlete has expressed much excitement over his new hosting position, saying that he’s been a longtime fan of game shows. “I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?” he said to Entertainment Weekly in a statement.
“The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”
Kelce even took to his hit podcast, New Heights, to reflect on his longtime affection for game shows, explaining that he always wanted to be a part of one in some capacity growing up. As for his favorite, Kelce gives the title to The Price Is Right.
“I literally used to not want to go to school,” he said on the podcast. “I would just tell mom that I’m sick, and then she would make me chicken noodle soup, Ritz crackers and at 10 a.m., I would be able to watch The Price is Right and Family Feud was right after that.”
