Taylor Swift celebrates ‘Opalite’ landing No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Taylor Swift took to social media to mark the big milestone that her latest single “Opalite” achieved on the Billboard charts.

The song, from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, landed in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. With this achievement, it marks the first time she has scored multiple No. 1 hits from the same album since her 2014 record 1989.

On her Instagram page, Taylor shared clips from the making of “Opalite” with producers Max Martin and Shellback.

“Just a few ‘Opalite’ memories to celebrate the Hot 100 #1 you guys just got this song!! I can’t even sum up my excitement and I’m so blown away by the love you’ve shown this song and video,” she wrote.

The global pop star expressed her gratitude to her fans for helping her achieve the feat.

“To put this into perspective… This is actually the first time I’ve had two Hot 100 #1s off of one album since my album 1989 came out in 2014, nearly twelve years ago! I know that’s a lot of numbers but it all adds up to me being so thankful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms,” Taylor said.

She went on: “Seriously bouncing off the walls about this!! Just wanted to say THANK YOU, might go buy a giant pretzel at the mall to celebrate, iykyk 🥨🌵🪨.”

Taylor released the music video for “Opalite” on February 6 via Spotify and Apple Music, marking the track as the official second single from The Life of a Showgirl.

Written and directed by Taylor herself, the video tells the story of a magical spray that “magically transforms your problems into your paradise” using “state of the art chemical potion.”

The music video stars the singer alongside several celebrities with whom she previously appeared on The Graham Norton Show, including Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Cillian Murphy, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, and host Graham Norton.

Following its release, Spotify announced that the video set a new platform record, revealing: “On February 6th, 2026, Taylor Swift’s ‘Opalite’ became the most-streamed music video in a single day in Spotify history.”
