A TikTok influencer in Florida has alleged her stepfather tried to murder her and her mother in a blood-chilling attack because he blamed her for the breakup of their marriage.
Eixchel Berroteran, known as Eixchelb to her 4.3 million TikTok and 650,000 Instagram followers, claims the gruesome assault unfolded Aug. 21 when her mother’s estranged husband, Luis Damas, 64, allegedly stormed into their Miami apartment and opened fire on her.
“That night… the worst of my entire life, God gave me another chance. When the shot missed by CENTIMETERS… I was stunned, in shock and afraid to think that those would be my last moments of life,” she wrote on her Instagram as she detailed the alleged attack at length.
The social media star also shared multiple gruesome photos of injuries she claims she and her mom sustained in the brutal assault — including deep cuts on her hands, a bite mark and severe bruising.
Damas — who was married to Berroteran’s mom for 13 years before they separated seven months ago –has since been slapped with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, burglary and false imprisonment charges over the alleged attack, cops said.
The terrifying ordeal erupted when Damas allegedly barged his way into the apartment, demanded to know where Berroteran was and started screaming that “she was the reason they could not be together,” NBC6 reported, citing a police report.
When Damas found the young woman trying to hide in her bedroom just moments later, he allegedly said “I’m going to kill you” and fired a single shot at her, the report said.
“I threw myself on the floor asking him to please not do anything… I decided to crawl towards him screaming for him to stop and at that moment I heard the shot that left me stunned; but my mom, who was already behind him, wrestled him so the shot didn’t hit me,” Berroteran wrote in her Instagram post.
“He bit my mom and pulled my hair very hard, we both screamed for help but until that moment no one listened, he kept insisting on shooting me.”
Berroteran and her mom said Damas eventually calmed down but made them promise not to alert authorities about the alleged attack.
He left the apartment a short time later, they allege.
The pair then went to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, and then contacted police the following day.
Berroteran’s mom later told investigators she didn’t immediately report the alleged attack because Damas had “threatened them that if police was contacted, he would have them killed by hitmen that he knew,” the report alleges.
Damas was subsequently arrested and hit with the slew of charges. He was held without bond following his initial court hearing last Saturday.
