One of the Baltimore Ravens’ top players has boldly decided to call out Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce while also throwing shade at Taylor Swift ahead of Thursday’s NFL Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Travis Kelce and the Chiefs defeated the Ravens in last year’s AFC Championship Game in Baltimore en route to a Super Bowl 58 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. With the win, the Chiefs became the first team since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots to win consecutive Super Bowls.
Now, Kansas City will try to complete the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. And the quest begins against another AFC heavyweight, led by reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and two-time rushing champion Derrick Henry.
As if this game didn’t need more intrigue and hype ahead of kickoff, Ravens All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey added fuel to the fire by calling out Kelce during an appearance on his “Punch Line with Marlon Humphrey” podcast.
“He [Travis Kelce] tried to take everything from me. He’s gotta pay for what he’s done to the podcast space, he tried to eliminate us. Sep 6th it will be Pod vs. Pod, and we will see what heights is higher.”

Humphrey’s “Pod” comment references the “New Heights” podcast that Travis Kelce co-hosts with older brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. Last week, they agreed to a podcast deal worth over $100 million with Amazon’s Wondery.
There’s a good chance the Ravens-Chiefs game will a) impact postseason seeding and b) preview another possible playoff showdown. So as Terrell Owens once said, “Get your popcorn ready.”
Travis Kelce & Chiefs Have Owned The Ravens
Including last year’s AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs own a 4-1 record against Baltimore in the Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson era. Kansas City won the first three meetings (2018, 2019 and 2020) before losing at Baltimore in Week 2 of the 2021 season.
The two teams wouldn’t cross paths again for another two seasons, with KC taking down Baltimore in the AFC title game. But one should remember that four of Mahomes’ five wins against Baltimore have been decided by a single score, so maybe the Ravens are due for some luck this time.
