The frosty relations between Prince William and Prince Harry don’t appear to be thawing anytime soon.
Amid reports that Harry was interested in performing some duties in the UK, a source close to the heir hit back by labeling the California-based royal as “very thick” in a new interview.
“Harry is a broken record at this stage,” William’s pal told the Daily Beast. “We all know he would love to be given a part-time royal role, but Queen Elizabeth was very clear that he couldn’t be half in and half out. Nothing has changed.”
The pal added, “Whoever is promulgating these ludicrous theories on Harry’s behalf is simply pretending to not get the message that he is not wanted. They are either very thick or pretending to be.”
The vicious attack comes on the heels of a recent report in the Mirror newspaper, alleging that Harry, 39, would be “open to taking up a temporary role within the family to ‘help out’ if he was asked to do so” by his father, King Charles III.
However, the reported offer to help out the firm allegedly comes with strings attached – an apology from William.
The brothers, who have been estranged for years, had a reunion of sorts last month when they both attended the funeral of their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes in Snettisham, Norfolk.
The siblings reportedly arrived “discreetly” and kept their distance from each other without exchanging any words.
Before the funeral, the brothers were last seen together in public in September 2022, following Queen Elizabeth II‘s death.
Prince Harry first spoke of his poor relations with the royal family in his and wife Meghan Markle’s explosive sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
At the time, the two made a series of bombshell claims that quickly fueled the rift rumors.
The Duke of Sussex then detailed the extent of his estrangement from William, 42, in his 2023 blockbuster memoir, “Spare.”
