Ring girl Sydney Thomas speaks out on ‘overwhelming’ sudden fame after Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight

Sydney Thomas has spoken out about her growing fame.

Thomas, a 20-year-old model, was a ring girl during Friday’s Mike Tyson-Jake Paul bout at AT&T Stadium and caught fans’ attention.

She posted a TikTok video on Saturday addressing the flood of attention she’s received.

“Im happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!!” Thomas captioned the post, with a crying laughing emoji and heart emoji added to the end.

The video itself had a caption that read: “waking up to see i’m trending for the tyson v paul fight.”

Thomas boasts nearly 800,000 followers on the platform.

She also thanked fans for their support on Instagram, where she has over 400,000 followers.

“I woke up to an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you,” Thomas wrote in an Instagram story on Saturday, with a heart emoji added to the end of the message. “I can’t thank you guys enough or begin to express how grateful I am. I love you all — thank you for your kind words.”

Thomas is currently a student at the University of Alabama.

The 27-year-old Paul defeated Tyson, now 58 years old, via unanimous decision.

It was Tyson’s first officially sanctioned, professional fight in 19 years.

Though it ended up lacking action, the bout was a massive box office success.

Netflix, which streamed the fight, announced that 60 million users tuned in to the bout, and the gate (the amount of money generated from ticket sales) surpassed $17.8 million, the biggest boxing gate outside of Las Vegas in U.S. history as 72,300 fans packed into the home of the Cowboys.
