Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has again made it clear that he won’t endorse any candidates for the 2024 United States presidential election.
Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Patrick Mahomes, made headlines last month when she “liked” a post from Donald Trump on Instagram. Brittany faced immense backlash for the activity but has defended her actions, leading many to assume that she’s voting for Trump.
Brittany Mahomes, wife of Patrick Mahomes, reacted on Instagram after there was an uproar over her “liking” a Donald Trump post:

While speaking to reporters, the three-time Super Bowl champion again emphasized that he won’t endorse a candidate for the election. Mahomes also added that he doesn’t view people on their political views, but rather on their treatment of others, per Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports:
“I’ve grown up with people from every aspect of life and every background. I think the best thing about a football locker room, and kind of how I’ve grown up in baseball lockers, everything about that is people can come together and achieve something and achieve a common goal.
And I think if we can, I mean, we talked about it a while back, I think if we can do that as a nation, I think we can get the best out of each other. And so I think that’s something that I do every single day, and whenever I’m hanging out with whoever, I’m not thinking about their political views. I’m thinking about the people and how they treat other people.”
After Trump’s presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday night, Taylor Swift took to Instagram and publicly endorsed the Democratic nominee. Speaking on FOX News, Trump said he likes Brittany “much better” than Swift, adding that Patrick’s wife is “a big Trump fan.”

So with the 2024 election less than two months away, don’t count on Patrick Mahomes using his platform to endorse a candidate. The 28-year-old is understandably choosing to stay neutral and avoid the topic altogether.
Trump has received endorsements from NFL greats like Brett Favre, Mike Ditka, Fran Tarkenton and John Elway and other notable athletes like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Curt Schilling, Mariano Rivera, Mike Tyson, Bob Cousy and Bobby Orr.
Patrick Mahomes Is Focusing On Football
Supporters on both sides would obviously like a prominent figure like Mahomes to publicly endorse their candidate, but the two-time league MVP is staying clear and keeping his focus on football.
Mahomes’ Chiefs got their Super Bowl title defense off to a strong start with a 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens last week. They’ll try and improve to 2-0 when Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals come to town this Sunday.
