Travis Kelce shared a subtle sign of support to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, after she thanked him at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end “liked” an Instagram video that the network posted of the “Blank Space” singer gushing about him while accepting the award for video of the year at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
“One person ONLY cheers louder for @taylorswift than I do – and that’s @killatrav #VMAs,” MTV captioned the post.
Swift, 34, sent fans into a frenzy after giving a special shout-out to Kelce, also 34, onstage –– and publicly calling him her “boyfriend” for the first time.
“I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [the ‘Fortnight’ music video],” she recalled while proudly holding her Moon Person trophy.
“And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis,” she said while the audience roared. “Everything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic, and I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”
Kelce was not in attendance to see the speech, as Page Six previously reported that he had to stay in Kansas City, Mo., for practice with his team ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
The athlete did, however, cheer on Swift by encouraging her to “stay on top” in Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
The “Cruel Summer” singer had quite the successful night, making history by becoming the artist with the most VMA wins. She took home seven awards this year, bringing her career total to a whopping 30.
Swift walked the red carpet solo in a Dior yellow-and-black plaid bustier and statement skirt that she accessorized with black velvet shorts, strappy black leather gloves, a choker and over-the-knee black boots.
