A Swiftie managed to stump Travis and Jason Kelce in the latest episode of their podcast.
While reading messages from fans who wrote in suggestions for “New Heights” bonus content Wednesday, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, recited a note from someone with the username Emma Fell in Love.
“Is that, like, a lyric or something?” he asked his brother after a long pause, to which the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, replied softly, “I have no idea.”
The username was likely a reference to Taylor Swift’s song “When Emma Falls in Love,” which appeared on her 2023 album “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”
The listener proceeded to suggest that the Kelce brothers break down the rules of football for Swifties who only started following the sport after Travis and the pop star, also 34, went public with their relationship.
“I’m sure many Swifties and tons of dads, daughters would love some ‘New Heights’ show content teaching football concepts in an E-L-I-5 format,” the fan said, using the acronym for “Explain Like I’m 5.”
Travis said it was “one of the better ideas that the 92 percenters came up with,” referencing their joke that 8 percent of their listeners tune in simply because they love Swift.
The NFL stars are ramping up their podcast after signing a deal with Wondery, an Amazon-owned company, in August that is reportedly worth more than $100 million.
Travis and Jason previously thanked Swifties for the major success of their weekly show, which is in its third season.
In March, they thanked Swift’s dedicated fan base after winning podcast of the year at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards.
The feeling is clearly mutual considering the “Cruel Summer” singer voiced her appreciation for Travis during her acceptance speech at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards last week while taking home the video of the year award.
“I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [the ‘Fortnight’ music video],” she recalled while holding her Moon Person statuette at the Sept. 11 awards show.
