While Taylor Swift enjoyed a fun night out with her longtime friend Gigi Hadid in New York City on Saturday, Sept. 21, fans put their thinking caps on and analyzed her outfit for Easter eggs—and they believe they found some.
The “Style” singer strutted through the city wearing a cropped, dark blue V-neck sweater, a red and blue plaid skirt with a belted waistline, and snakeskin boots. She had her hair in natural waves, wore black nail polish and had on a necklace that appeared to have the number “12” on it.
By her side, Hadid looked just as stylish in a dark brown trench coat, a white t-shirt and tan pants, paired with a small yellow purse and multiple gold layered necklaces.
Fans shared the photos online and Swifties immediately headed to the comments to share their theories.
Analyzing all of the details of the outfit, fans quickly highlighted the plaid skirt, noting that the singer has been wearing plaid a lot recently. She notably wore a yellow and black plaid ensemble to the VMAs that caught everybody’s eye.
The skirt, paired with Swift’s “12” necklace, led fans to think she was teasing her next new album, which would be the 12th studio album of her career.
“The plaid, Ts12 tease,” wrote one fan, while more chimed in, saying, “THE 12 ON THE NECKLACE???!!! TS12!!” and “plaid skirt/12 necklace, ts12 will be orange/yellow plaid, hear me out.”

A couple of fans even noted that, if her necklace was flipped upside down, it would spell “TS,” saying, “The necklace literally says TS & 12 = BIG DEAL.”
But there were also fans who found signs that pointed to her album Reputation‘s re-release coming up, such as the snakeskin boots, black nails and her curly hair. One such fan shared photos of Swift during her Reputation era, highlighting the similarities with her hair in NYC.

Of course, Swift’s loyal fans also knew it was possible that this outfit could be teasing both projects (or none at all), with comments like, “she knows damn well that plaid and snake print don’t match…..huh….” and “hair and boots giving rep TV but the plaid is def TS12. What are u trying to say miss maam.”
