Travis Kelce Looks Frustrated in Viral Clip After Third-Straight Slow Game

Travis Kelce is still finding his rhythm on the field this season.

The Chiefs were able to hold off the Atlanta Falcons in their first road game of the season on Sunday, Sept. 23, but Kelce, 34, appeared frustrated on the sidelines during his team’s victory after making just four catches in the game.

In a clip from the 22-17 win over Atlanta shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Kelce is seated on the sideline bench with a disappointed expression on his face.

The star tight end also looked frustrated during a conversation with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the footage from Sunday’s game.

Fans took notice of Kelce’s mood, sharing the clip and commenting on his apparent frustration. One user wrote, “Free Travis Kelce man,” while another said, “You’ll find those routes again, Travis. No doubt… You already know…#ChiefsKingdom.”

Through three games this season, Kelce has only recorded eight catches and 69 yards in the first three weeks, and he’s yet to score a touchdown for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

The Sunday Night Football commentators took notice of Kelce’s slow start. Chris Collinsworth said on the broadcast he was “just flabbergasted” seeing the third game in a row without the “magic” of the Kelce and Mahomes connection.

Fans expected the NFL star to have a big game in Sunday’s matchup against the Falcons after Kelce addressed his slow start to the season on an episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. The tight end said that although he would have gotten “really, really pissed off” in past seasons when he hadn’t started strong, he’s learned to deal with the frustration in his twelfth NFL season.

“I used to get really, really pissed off and almost lose my cool,” he told his brother Jason during the episode, adding, “I just like to play the game to such a high level of accountability that it’s just tough for me to deal with being mediocre or having stats that represent that.”
