Tua Tagovailoa returning as Dolphins’ starter after scary concussion

Tua Tagovailoa is expected to make his return on Sunday for the Dolphins.

Coach Mike McDaniel said on Monday that the team is designating Tagovailoa to return from IR after missing the past four games with a concussion.

McDaniel said the intention was for Tagovailoa to play on Sunday, though the quarterback still has to pass concussion protocols.

The Dolphins lost three of four games without Tagovailoa with the only win coming against the lowly Patriots.

There was a push from some former players for Tagovailoa to retire after he was laid out on the turf with a scary head injury in a Sept. 12 loss to the Bills.
