The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was one of the most significant events in combat sports history. It was also the first live sporting event on Netflix, bringing around 60 million viewers to the platform for the event.
The day event didn’t come without controversy, as a fight preceded the Paul vs. Tyson match, which saw Katie Taylor pitted against Amanda Serrano. Taylor took one of the most controversial wins of all-time.
Of course, the main event was Tyson’s first professional boxing match in almost 20 years, and fans were eager to see him put on a show against the YouTube-turned-prizefighter. However, that was hardly what fans got as Mike threw less than half the punches Jake did in his seventh pro loss.
Most fans in attendance favored Tyson, as evidenced by the cheers thrown his way every time he was shown on the big screen. After the bout that saw Paul take the win by majority decision, fans had their theories about Tyson’s less-than-stellar performance.

Was The Mike Tyson Fight Rigged?
One social media creator took the chance to ask fans what they thought of the fight following Tyson’s loss to Paul, and there was a lot of fans who were thinking the same thing. As one fan put it “I could have fought him better than that.”
“I wasted my money, they really did it for the money,” went another while hinting at the fact that they thought the battle was somehow rigged. Another fan was very straight up with her response, “yes it was very much rigged!”
“It was rigged,” was probably the most said phrase in the video uploaded to the internet by Alex Stein. The odds are that the poor performance from Iron Mike was simply due to his age, but everyone has their own opinion.
