A brazen thief is on the run following an armed robbery at a Walgreens in Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday, among the latest crimes to plague one of the most dangerous cities in the country.
The man stormed into a Walgreens on Macon Road around 1:30 a.m. wielding two guns in each hand, according to Memphis Police, which shared video from the startling scene.
The unidentified man demanded that the graveyard shift employees fork over whatever cash was available and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
He was wearing all-black clothes, including an unseasonable short-sleeved shirt and a ski mask that covered his face.
The Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll is no stranger to heavy crime.
Memphis saw a staggering 202 homicides in 2024, higher than any other across America, according to the November findings from the Major Cities Chiefs Association Violent Crime Survey. It was only second to Los Angeles, which saw 226 homicides.
