Barron Trump was hailed ‘a true gentleman’ for shaking hands with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at his father’s inauguration.
Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday morning.
He took his oath of office while his wife held a historic and sentimental pair of Bibles. One of the Bibles is the Lincoln Bible, the same one the Civil War-era president put his hand on when taking the oath in 1861.
The other Bible was a family heirloom passed to President Trump by his mother. It’s traditional to take the oath of office with one’s left hand on a Bible during the presidential swearing in, but it is not required. Only the oath itself is mandated by the Constitution.
The President’s 18-year-old son gave the out-going president and vice present firm handshakes after the swearing-in ceremony.
The gesture of peace has led fans to praise the New York University freshman as ‘a gentleman’ and ‘raised well.’
‘[Melania] brought up a true gentleman wow I’ve never seen a classier 18 year old,’ one person said.
‘Smart young man. Knows his way around the room,’ a second person said. ‘He is very impressive & clearly, raised well,’ a third said.
‘I was very impressed by that gesture and from someone so young. To go across the aisle and shake their hands was a very classy and mature thing to do. Good for Barron,’ another person said.
‘Someday I hope this honorable young man becomes president too,’ added a fifth person.
Many people commended Melania for raising him well and knowing to treat others with respect.
‘His mama taught him him well,’ one person said. ‘Such a classy, well brought up young man. As a mother, I am moved. God bless him,’ said another.
‘Such a good young man… That gesture just tells you everything. Well done Melania,’ said a third.
Barron showed-off a slicked back new hairstyle as he attended his father’s historic second inauguration on Monday.
The 18-year-old looked smart in a long black overcoat, white shirt and purple tie as he attended a church ceremony in St John’s Episcopal Church opposite the White House on Monday morning.
The NYU-Stern student, who towers over his dad and mother Melania at 6’9, kept his expression neutral as he walked into church and sat in a pew alongside his parents.
