Carrie Underwood was forced to think on her feet during Donald Trump’s inauguration at the United States Capitol on Monday.
Underwood’s performance of “America the Beautiful” was hampered by technical difficulties as the control room could not get the required audio going.
The singer was brought on stage for what was expected to be a routine rendition after Trump’s remarks. However, the sound abruptly cut off after a few seconds, leaving everyone standing around awkwardly while she waited.
Carrie decided to go it acapella after realizing she might be waiting all day.
“You know the words, help me out here,” she said before breaking into song.
Check her out in the videos below:
Carrie Underwood Just Sang…
Underwood did a great job despite the annoying hiccup.
She was seen mouthing the words “Just sing?” as she sought permission to perform without sound.
Fortunately, she didn’t leave Trump and the dignitaries waiting too long as the silence had grown deafening.
