A blockbuster trade proposal has the New York Jets sending superstar wide receiver Davante Adams to an underachieving NFC team in a move that would cement them as championship contenders next year.
After a frustrating start with the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams’ request to be traded was granted in October. He was sent to the struggling Jets in a massive deal that reunited the All-Pro wideout with old friend Aaron Rodgers.
Everyone knows how things went for the Jets this season, but it certainly wasn’t because of Adams. In 11 games with New York, Adams caught 67 passes for 854 yards and seven touchdowns and crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth straight year (85 catches for 1,063 yards and eight TDs in 14 total games).
Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Jets sending Davante Adams to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for 2025 third and fifth-round draft picks:
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made zero big splashes last year after promising that his team would go “all-in.” He’s got a real opportunity to correct his mistake here, and adding a player like Adams would go a long way in cementing Dallas as an NFC heavyweight.
Adams’ future with New York could depend on the future of Rodgers, who could either retire or join a new team via trade or free agency (if he’s released). Should Rodgers depart, it should only motivate the Jets to trade Adams and begin a much-needed rebuild.
Davante Adams Is An Ideal Trade Target For Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb is a top-five receiver in football. If Adams joined an offense led by Lamb, Dak Prescott and 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle, there’s little doubting that the new-look Cowboys would bounce back nicely and return to the postseason after a dismal 2024 campaign.
Adams is arguably the best receiver of his era. Imagine what Dallas could do if he was simply the No. 2 receiver opposite Lamb.
