Jason Kelce Was Already Planning to Root Against the Chiefs in Super Bowl: ‘I Will Always Be an Eagle’

Jason Kelce is letting his Eagles flag fly — much to his brother’s chagrin.

The retired NFL star, who played 13 seasons on the team, will not be cheering for Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs when they take on Philly on Super Bowl Sunday — and it was a decision he has been sure about since the scenario was first floated last year on their podcast.

“I will root for the Eagles of course because I will always be an Eagle first and foremost,” Jason, 37, told his brother on New Heights in March 2024.

All of which had Travis, 35, underwhelmed: “This is bulls—, such bulls—.”

However, Jason did couch the then-hypothetical.

“I’ll also root for Travis to have a good game of course,” Jason said. “He’s my brother. But no, I’ll definitely be cheering on the Eagles.”

The Monday Night Countdown analyst and his wife, ardent Eagles fan Kylie Kelce, have enjoyed Super Bowls involving the Chiefs from various perspectives over the past few years.

In 2023, the Eagles played Travis’ team in the big game — then dubbed the Kelce Bowl — and last year, on the cusp of retirement after the Eagles’ disappointing season, they watched the matchup as Chiefs fans.

The father of three teamed up with Eagles superfan Miles Teller in a suite at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas last February to cheer on Travis and the Chiefs who took on the San Francisco 49ers.

Teller, wife Keleigh Sperry and friends joined Taylor Swift — Travis’ girlfriend — as well as Travis and Jason’s mom, Donna Kelce, to watch the big game.

Ice SpiceLana Del Rey and Blake Lively were also spotted in the celebrity suite.
