Canelo Alvarez is not wasting any time to hit back at Jake Paul. In recent years, Jake Paul has become one of the pivotal figures in the professional boxing arena. After fighting some big names, Paul broke the internet by signing up for a match with the legendary Mike Tyson. Initially, most of the fans thought it to be a gimmick. However, as the days went by, it became pretty evident that the fight was real.
In one of the biggest stories, Paul managed to beat Tyson in order to make a big name for himself. Now, the Youtuber-turned-boxer is eyeing Canelo Alvarez next. While it was touted that a high-profile, big-money fight is on the cards, Alvarez has reportedly stepped away from the prospect. And he is not holding back.
“Hey guys, don’t pay attention on anything. I will fight real fighters. Stop f*cking around with Canelo,” said Alvarez on X recently.
Revoking Jake Paul’s offer, Canelo Alvarez has instead signed a four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season. Meanwhile, a former UFC middleweight star has poked fun at Jake Paul.
Derek Brunson Mocks Jake Paul For Wanting To Fight Canelo Alvarez
Former UFC middleweight fighter Derek Brunson has found Jake Paul’s shenanigans amusing. Soon after Alvarez canceled the fight, Paul went off on Alvarez on X. Paul addressed the Mexican fighter as an “owned slave” and declared him the new face of boxing. Such comments apparently did not sit well with Brunson.
Poking fun at Paul, Brunson wrote on his X, “Bruh was trying to fight a 150lb guy at 200lbs. Have some shame.”
Well, it is quite evident that Jake Paul is currently in the backseat. However, it will be interesting to see how things pan out for him in the near future.
