Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is lucky to be alive.
Over the weekend, he revealed that his private plane, which was traveling from Hawaii to Houston for the United Football League’s 2025 season opener, had a mechanical issue that forced the pilot to return.
The UFL’s second season began Friday when the Houston Roughnecks hosted the St. Louis Battlehawks at TDECU Stadium.
The Rock, who is a UFL co-owner, took to social media and stated that he was supposed to be in attendance and hype up the crowd as the league got the 2025 campaign going.
The Rock said the pilot explained that there are some issues that can be worked out in the air and some issues where it’s unsafe to take a chance, especially over the ocean.
The St. Louis Battlehawks beat the Houston Roughnecks 31-6 in a game that was never competitive. Battlehawks quarterback Manny Wilkins completed 17 of 22 passes for 189 yards and also ran for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side, however, Roughnecks’ quarterbacks combined to go a dismal 12-of-29 for 76 yards with two interceptions.
The game could’ve really used The Rock as the official attendance figure for the 2025 UFL season opener between the St.Louis Battlehawks and Houston Roughnecks at TDECU stadium was 7,124.
It looked a lot less than that on television.
Dwayne’ The Rock’ Johnson Apologizes

Dwayne Johnson took to social media over the weekend to reveal a frightening situation that took place aboard his personal jet.
“The Rock” was traveling from Hawaii to Texas to take part in the opening weekend of the United Football League’s second season.
However, unforeseen events led to him missing the event and instead heading home to Hawaii.
The Great One explained himself while also apologizing.
“I’m here back home in Hawaii, and I was scheduled right now to be in Houston, Texas. Right now, I was going to be on the field in Houston, Texas hyping up the crowd getting them ready with mana and electricity as we kicked off our UFL, our United Football League season number two, live on Fox,” he says in the video. “I was ready to go. Man, I was super pumped to get down there to Texas, to rock and roll with all the players and fans and coaches. I’m just so super bummed that I can’t be there and I’m so sorry.”
