The TikTok star was among several online personalities who paid their respects after the WWE Hall of Famer passed away last week, wearing a Hogan costume in the gym shortly after the news broke.
He immediately began taking heat due to the former wrestler having his WWE contract terminated 10 years ago over his use of racial slurs in a leaked conversation.
“If somebody makes a mistake in their life, it doesn’t mean that they haven’t done good things,” he fired back in a post. “I don’t know what he did or if he said something 20 years ago and apologized for it. The man was nice to me, and he made a mistake. If you have a problem with that, look at yourself.”
Joey Swoll “Done” After Apologizing To Critics

Users did not let up, ultimately forcing an apology from the bodybuilder, who uploaded a new video to his social media pages in which he revealed he did research on The Hulkster and found out the “horrible things” he did, suggesting Hulk’s actions were deliberate.
“Since last night, I’ve done a lot of research and learned all of the horrible things that man has done. Which is way more than just making a mistake and being human. I have taken the video down, and I apologize to anyone that I have offended.”
Joey Swoll also apologized for using the word “colored” in reference to someone, saying someone let him know that was not okay to say.
“I used the word colored instead of saying person of color, which is a very outdated and very offensive term,” he remarked. “A few moments later, somebody educated me and told me that it wasn’t okay to use that. I immediately apologized.”
Joey later shared a tweet in which he claimed to be “done,” lamenting over people waiting for a reason to hate him.
Folks aren’t sure what to make of the message, with some wondering whether he’s done, as in done addressing the situation or done making content altogether.
We reckon it’s likely the former, but the recent posts also haven’t earned him much sympathy as he’s now being accused of playing the victim.
