President Donald Trump made his much-anticipated appearance at the U.S. Open just as he previously promised.
With the president in attendance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the men’s final began with Carlos Alcaraz facing off against Jannik Sinner.
The president’s appearance at the men’s final of the U.S. Open on Sunday was met with pushback. Trump was loudly booed.
Wearing a suit and long, red tie, Trump heard a mix of boos and cheers from Arthur Ashe Stadium. There was not an announcement of his appearance.
Just when you thought it was over, Donald Trump would receive even more boos as he saluted the National Anthem and was briefly shown on the arena’s big screens. He took the boos in stride as he smirked at the crowd.
On this day, Carlos Alcaraz would come out as the winner as he snagged a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory in front of President Donald Trump. The match was just over two hours in length.
As he celebrated, cameras caught Trump’s reaction.
President Donald Trump Is Used To Being Cheered And Booed At Sporting Events

Since Donald Trump started getting elected to office, he has attended many sporting events over the year.
Trump attended the U.S. Open men’s singles final, receiving a mixed reaction of cheers and boos from the crowd. This is nothing new to him.
At the Super Bowl in New Orleans in February, he received some boos, but mostly clips showed him being cheered.
Athletes in the NFL certainly seem to like him, as many perform the “Trump Dance” to celebrate victories.
Anytime he attends a UFC event, he is widely cheered by the crowd in attendance.
Whatever the reaction, it has never stopped Trump from showing his face. Love him or hate him, but you can fully expect to see him when he’s ready to enjoy sports.
