One grieving mother has thanked Taylor Swift for paying tribute to her deceased son in her new album.
Swift released her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, in early September and has sparked controversy with some of her lyrics.
However, a Tennessee resident named Susan Lang will hardly rue the launch, as she believes the song, “Ruin the Friendship,” is about her late son, Jeff Lang.
According to Susan, Jeff and Taylor were close friends growing up in Hendersonville, and she used to let him listen to her music before anyone else.
Taylor Swift Mentioned Jeff Lang During Notable Speech

Jeff passed away a few days after Taylor released the album ‘Speak Now’ in October 2010, with lung inflammation said to be the cause of death.
The song in question is about the pain of never letting a close friend know how she really feels about him. She mentions Abigail calling her to give her bad news. Fans reckon Taylor was referring to her best friend, Abigail Anderson, who must have told her about Jeff’s death.
“After all this time, she hasn’t forgotten about him,” Susan said. “I’m thankful she’s keeping his name alive.”
Taylor Swift mentioned Jeff Lang during her 2010 awards speech but hasn’t spoken much about him since then, at least not in public. However, she has made it known that his passing affected her deeply.
