VIDEO: Joe Milton III, a rookie quarterback for the Patriots, stunned the internet by making 60-yard dart throws with just a flick of his wrist.

A new video has emerged of New England Patriots rookie quarterback Joe Milton III displaying his incredible rocket arm during warmups in last Sunday’s preseason game.

The Patriots drafted Joe Milton in the sixth round (193rd overall) in this year’s NFL Draft. The Tennessee product put together a tremendous final season of college football, completing 64.7 percent of pass attempts for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions to go along with 229 rushing yards and seven rushing scores.

During the warmups for the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, cameras caught the 24-year-old throwing absolute bombs with a simple flick of the wrist:

The video of Milton showing off his excellent arm left football fans in awe:

Joe Milton completed five of 17 passes against the Commanders for 78 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions to go along with 23 rushing yards on three carries. He is the No. 3 quarterback on the roster, behind starter Jacoby Brissett and fellow rookie Drake Maye.

The Patriots released their fourth quarterback, Bailey Zappe, ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster cut deadline. Zappe was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad on Wednesday.

New England kicks off their 2024 season with a road game against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 8.

Joe Milton Has A Fascinating Skill Set

As much as fans want to see Joe Milton play, it’s a foregone conclusion that he’ll see limited to no playing time at all this season. If Brissett gets injured or struggles on the field, the Patriots will turn to their prized rookie in Maye.

But there’s no questioning Joe Milton’s excellent athleticism and enticing skill set. That’s why if he doesn’t last long in New England, other teams should be motivated to give the former Volunteer a chance to at least compete for a QB2 role.
