On Saturday morning, ESPN aired its first “College GameDay” episode for the 2024 season. Making another return to the show was longtime analyst Lee Corso, who has been on the show since 1987 when it first launched.
It will now be 38 years of Corso gracing the screens of college football fans every Saturday during the regular season. That’s a long time in one profession. Corso is now 89, and some fans worry about him and his health.
During the show, Corso mentioned how lucky he is to remain healthy and return for another year.

However, many fans think it’s time for Corso to leave the show.
“Lee Corso is the Joe Biden of CFB Time to put this dude out to pasture. @CollegeGameDay should stop embarrassing him.“

“I’m of two minds here, its great he’s out there, if you feel like you can bring something fine, but on the other hand, when do we say you don’t need to be there or it’s time to retire?” another said.

Kinda reminds me of ABC continuing to roll out Dick Clark post stroke. Just sad to see.

I know he wants to work and loves it but ESPN has a responsibility to Lee to keep him from embarrassing himself because he can’t see it at his age and in his condition

“This hasn’t felt right for a very long time. Corso is a legend, but why do we still need to see him?” a third added.
“This shit isn’t cool anymore idc if he wants to keep going out there it’s time for an adult to say no to the 900 year old”

As Corso prepares to turn 90 next year, there is a strong chance that this could be his last season as an analyst.
Lee Corso Has A Positive Headgear Pick Percentage
One of the best parts of “College GameDay” is when Corso makes a headgear pick. It always makes for a hilarious moment, and many would be surprised to know he’s actually very accurate with his picks.
Cole’s Gameday Blog has tracked every headgear pick he has made, all the way back to his first one in 1996, when he correctly picked Ohio State to beat Penn State.
In 414 picks he has had 275 wins to 139 losses, a 66.43 winning percentage.
