Marsha Kearney, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice, is facing misdemeanor charges over allegations she stole a package from her neighbor, authorities in Texas have confirmed to DailyMail.com.
This news follows the release of a doorbell camera footage purportedly showing the 43-year-old North Richland Hills resident taking the package from a neighbor in her apartment building. The package contained records from singer-songwriter Chappell Roan, according to TMZ.
Kearney is scheduled to appear in court later next month.
‘The reporting party advised that a package was removed from their porch,’ read a statement from North Richland Hills PD provided to DailyMail.com. ‘The reporting party advised their Ring Camera, located on their front door, captured the incident and provided it to police.’
Kearney was later subject to an arrest warrant before turning herself in on October 15.
Earlier this year she was accused of stealing a number of household items from a man, including food, tumblers, laundry products, merchandise and socks. The case was ultimately dismissed on June 4 after Kearney appeared before a judge and completed unspecified conditions, a court official told TMZ.
This latest incident is said to have occurred just hours after the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers on September 29.
In the video, obtained by TMZ, a woman walks by the camera wearing a ‘Momma-Rice’ jersey with the No. 4 on it and looks right into the lens as she passes by.
Moments later, the woman returns and uses her foot to slide a package away from the door.
But unfortunately for her, while she thought she was out of the camera’s view, the woman is seen bending down to grab the package – lifting up a box and then walking away.
Rice, meanwhile, is out indefinitely after suffering a significant knee injury in that win over the Chargers. He has since undergone a successful surgery, leaving the Chiefs scrambling to add receivers.
This week the Chiefs acquired veteran DeAndre Hopkins from Tennessee in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
Rice was also involved in a major incident with police in April when he was caught running away from the scene of a horrifying high-speed crash on a Dallas highway. Four other vehicles were damaged in the crash, which could have been fatal.
Two people were taken to the hospital and others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Rice was ultimately charged with aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injuries.
