WATCH: Jason Kelce slams Penn State student’s phone after hateful remarks about brother and Taylor Swift

Longtime NFL center and beloved media figure Jason Kelce visited central Pennsylvania for Penn State’s massive clash with Ohio State Saturday afternoon and had no patience for an antagonistic Nittany Lion fan’s remarks about his brother Jason’s relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift.

After making an appearance on ESPN’s College Gameday program, he was walking outside Beaver Stadium when a hooded fan began recording the former player and was heard saying, “Kelce how does it feel that your brother is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift?” Kelce immediately confronted the instigator, taking the phone and spiking it on the ground — he appeared to pick up the smashed phone as he walked away from the conflict.

From his current home in the Philadelphia area after a long playing career for the Eagles, Kelce made the trip across the Keystone State for a mammoth top-5 clash between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions and a challenge issued by high-energy College Gameday host Pat McAfee. The former NFL punter has made a field goal challenge a staple of the ESPN morning show since becoming a co-host two seasons ago, and after a Cal student made a kick in Vans earlier in the season, Kelce was challenged to split the uprights while wearing his signature Timberland boots.

Kelce attempted a pair of kicks in State College for a cumulative $250,000 toward hurricane recovery efforts in North Carolina, hooking both efforts disastrously to the left as McAfee remarked, “This guy sucks.” The College Gameday host then clarified that the money would still be donated to the charitable cause, a sum matched by Timberland as well.

While he has no rotting interest in either school in Saturday’s game, Kelce did play his college ball in Ohio, walking on at Cincinnati as a linebacker before making the switch to the offensive line. Kelce was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Eagles but immediately won the starting center job, going on to play 193 games in his one-team career that included six first-team All-Pro selections and a Super Bowl trophy.

The lineman’s public profile skyrocketed after launching the “New Heights” show with Travis, which has since become one of the most popular podcasts in the United States and earned the brothers a mammoth three-year $100 million deal with Amazon’s Wondery this year. Travis also used his podcast to spark his relationship with 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift last May, expressing his disappointment that he was unable to give her a friendship bracelet at an Era’s Tour concert. The pair made their relationship official in September and have since maintained possibly pop culture’s highest-profile relationship for more than a year.
