Travis Kelce appreciates his brother, Jason for sticking up for him.
While attending this past Saturday’s top-5 showdown between Penn State and Ohio State, former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce was caught up in quite the viral moment. Following Ohio State’s victory in ‘Happy Valley,’ Kelce was seen exiting the stadium with several hecklers (some good, some bad) yelling in his direction. One person had their phone close to Jason while yelling out quite the horrendous homophobic slurs to describe his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star (and boyfriend of Taylor Swift) Travis Kelce. Jason yelled back at the fan and smashed their phone in response.

Jason, who traded in his cleats and helmet for a suit and a microphone, is now an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage. Ahead of Travis and the Chiefs’ MNF showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jason took the opportunity to apologize for yelling back at the person whom disrespected his brother and Swift as well as for smashing the person’s phone.

On Tuesday, the brothers released the newest episode of their ‘New Heights‘ podcast. Jason and Travis wasted no time in addressing the situation, with Travis thanking Jason for having his back during the altercation.
“I know it’s weighing on you brother, that sh*t sucks,” Travis told Jason. “You shouldn’t feel this much, obviously the scrutiny and the media view on it and everybody passing around the videos that are being out there.”
Travis would continue, saying while he knows Jason probably regrets using the language that he did, he still understands it came from a good place of defending his family.
“That’s gonna make it a bigger situation than, I think, what it really is,” Travis continued. “But, the real situation is you had some f***ing clown come up to you and talk about your family and you reacted in a way that was defending your family. And, you might have used some words that you regret using. And, that’s a situation that where you just kinda have to learn from and own.”

Meanwhile on the field, Travis has seemingly found his old form as of late. The future first-ballot NFL Hall of Fame tight end had his best game of the season on Monday night. The Ohio-native caught 14 balls for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs overtime victory against the Buccaneers. Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has 52 catches for 435 yards and one touchdown in his first eight games of Kansas City’s 2024 campaign.
The Chiefs’ success through the first two months of the season has been due to their truly dominant defense. Through eight games, Kansas City’s allowed just 18.4 points per game, good enough for fourth in the league. Steve Spagnuolo’s unit ranks fifth in total yards allowed per game (293.6), with their pass defense sitting 15th in the league (209.8 passing yards allowed per game), and boasting the third-best rush defense in the NFL (83.9 rushing yards allowed per contest).
Travis and the Chiefs look to make it nine-straight wins when they host their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon (1:00 pm EDT/10:00 am PDT) on CBS.
