Jason Kelce’s Truthful Opinion on His NFL Fame

Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce has opened up about how fame has impacted his ability to connect with fans.

While promoting his new show, “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce,” the former NFL star opened up about the double-edged nature of his celebrity status.

“In some ways, I wish I wasn’t as big of a name, so I could even be more normal with fans,” Kelce told PEOPLE.

Known for his relatable nature, Kelce reflected on how stardom often prevents him from enjoying casual interactions, like tailgating or bonding over football.

“I’ve always wanted to get to be appreciative of tailgates and have that experience… But nonetheless, it’s been awesome interacting with fans more,” the Super Bowl champion said.

Kelce also noted the unique joy of sharing food with fans, calling it a timeless tradition that fosters connection.

Despite his increasing presence in the media, from hosting the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, to appearances on ESPN, Jason Kelce remains committed to maintaining authenticity.

Kelce’s new show will air Saturdays on ESPN, starting Jan. 4. The show blends comedy, sports discussions and celebrity interviews

He also teased a star-studded lineup of guests, with “a bunch of really great guests lined up” for the premiere and beyond.

Kelce’s candid reflections reveal his desire for genuine moments with fans, a refreshing reminder that even sports icons value simple human connections.
