For those unfamiliar, Swoll is a popular social media personality who goes by the nickname “CEO of Gym Positivity.” As part of his persona, Swoll exposes “bullies” in the gym and tries to make it a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
After Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24, Swoll paid tribute by posting an old video of himself dressed as the WWE Hall of Famer with a message reading, “RIP to a legend and one of my inspirations to start working out.”
Swoll received backlash from many followers due to Hulk Hogan’s many scandals and incidents outside the ring. Swoll posted an apology on his Instagram account and said he was leaving social media, claiming he wasn’t aware of Hogan’s controversies.
But Swoll has reversed course, telling his audience that he just needed a few days away from social media and that he won’t apologize anymore. Swoll also vowed to continue “making the gym community and the world a better place as I have done for years.”
Joey Swoll has over 5.4 million followers on Instagram and more than 500,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.
